Meetings

Introduction
And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles'; teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (Acts 2:42 NASB)

The early church incorporated teaching, fellowship, meals with the Lords Table and prayer as the central activities in the life of the church. We believe these things need to take place in the local church today as well.

Sunday Morning Meeting
Our Sunday Service starts at 10:00 AM and usually begins with praise and worship, followed by announcements and then a teaching for the adults, a Sunday school class for the children, and a supervised nursery for infants to children age 3. As God leads the order of service may change and there could be a time of testimony, prophetic ministry, body ministry, a time of prayer, etc. Every first Sunday of the month, as part of our praise and worship, we remember the Lord by taking Communion together (the Lord’s Table). On this Sunday, the service is concluded with a time of fellowship and refreshments in the Fellowship Hall. We do encourage everyone to arrive early so that we can begin the Worship Service on time. The service usually ends by 12:00 Noon.

Nurseries
A nursery is available during the entire Sunday service (during the worship service and the time of teaching for adults and Sunday School classes for the children) for infants and toddlers up to and including 3 years of age. Scheduled supervision of the nursery is provided only during the time of teaching for adults and the Sunday School class for the children. Parents are free to use the nursery at any time but will be responsible for the supervision of their children during the time of praise and worship. Please do not leave your children unattended at any time.

The nursery has a changing table, cribs, as well as toys appropriate for children this age. Nursing mothers are encouraged to use this nursery if they need to nurse their children during the service. There is a TV Monitor in the nursery that shows what is happening in the sanctuary so that parents and nursery workers can participate in the Worship Service and the time of teaching and ministry.

The nursery is located behind the sanctuary (go through the door to the right of the platform) and down the hallway to the right. When bringing your children to the nursery, please sign them in with the persons responsible. Remember to pick them up promptly after the service ends.

It should also be noted that at no time are older children allowed to play in either nursery.

Sunday School
Due to the fact that we only have a small number of children attending the church right now, we only have one Sunday School Class. It is being provided for children from age 4 through the 6th grade. The breakdown of the classes may change during the summer months and from year to year if the number of children in each age group varies. Sunday school classes are only provided during the teaching time on Sunday morning. The classroom is located on the main floor of the building across from the Nursery.

Other Meetings
A variety of other types of meetings/gatherings are held throughout the year which provide a balance of teaching, prayer, fellowship, and fun. We believe that they offer a special richness and provide a good atmosphere to be nurtured and grow in the Lord. Check the weekly Bulletin for the latest meeting schedule. The following are a list of some of these meetings:

  • Corporate Prayer Meeting.
  • Midweek Bible Study/Training.
  • Youth Meeting (see section on Youth Ministry).
  • Special meetings with guest speakers.
  • Fellowship Dinners.
  • Family New Years Eve Celebration.
  • Family Nights*.
  • Men's Meetings (announced in Sunday bulletin).
  • Women's Meetings (announced in Sunday bulletin).
  • Children's Ministries

*Family Nights - Periodically the church has a meeting for the church family (adults) to openly and informally discuss any problems, conflicts, issues, new direction for the church, or questions that may arise in our life together. The purpose of these gatherings is to maintain clear communication between the Pastors and the congregation. Individuals are encouraged, however, to contact one of the Pastors at any time to discuss problems, issues, questions, etc., and not just wait for the Family Nights. Once a year the financial report will be presented at a Family Night or after a Sunday Morning Service for everyone to review.
